Iran film ‘My Second Year in College’ by famed director Rasul Sadr-Ameli starts the editing stage in a bid to attand 2018 Fajr fest in the country..

 ‘My Second Year in College’ crew is trying its level best to finish the flick for the 36th Fajr National Film Festival while in the next few days a copy will be handed over to the fest jury panel.

The film features Iranian thespians such as Ali Mosaffa, Babak Hamidian, Shaghayegh Farahani, Pedram Sharifi, Niloofar Khoshkholq, Shiva Khosromehr and Maryam Boubani.

A total of 22 unknown artists play in the film for the first time, among which three are the main actors with the rest doing side roles.

Iranian director, playwright and journalist Rasoul Sadr-Ameli began his screen career as a producer in 1980 and made his first feature film as a director in 1982.

He has produced a few movies, including ‘Paeezan’ (1987), ‘The Victim’ (1991), ‘I Saw Your Dad Last Night Aida’ (2004), ‘Night’ (2007), ‘Every Night, Loneliness’ (2007), ‘Life with Closed Eyes’ (2008), and ‘Awaiting a Miracle’ (2009).

His movie ‘Chrysanthemum’ (1984) received five Golden Awards from the 3rd Fajr Film Festival and a Best Film award from the Pyongyang International Film Festival.

‘The Girl in the Sneakers’ (1998) also won numerous domestic and international awards.

In 2002, Sadr-Ameli won the Fajr Festival Crystal Simorgh for Best Director for ‘I am Taraneh, 15’. The movie won awards from several international festivals, including Brisbane International Film Festival Interfaith Award, Thessaloniki International Film Festival FIPRESCI Prize, and the Locarno International Film Festival.

‘I Saw Your Dad Last Night Aida’, ‘Night’, and ‘Every Night, Loneliness’ have won several domestic and international awards as well.
